With Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>\u2018s 2022 season just a few weeks away, it\u2019s officially time to get excited for the long-running dance competition \u2013 particularly with the BBC announcing that Blackpool Week is finally returning!<\/p>\n

The broadcaster has revealed that this year\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing line-up will be performing at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom to celebrate the BBC\u2019s centenary year.<\/p>\n

The week, which sees the remaining celebrities perform a routine at the popular venue, was scrapped during the pandemic \u2013 however, bosses had previously said that they wanted to bring it back<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fans will also see the return of a few classic Strictly themes, including Movie Week, Halloween Week and Musicals Week, as well as a \u201cnew special BBC 100 themed week\u201d.<\/p>\n

The fun-filled episode will see each of the couples dance to the theme song of an iconic BBC programme or in tribute to one of the BBC\u2019s most loved services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will also be two dazzling professional routines, one dedicated to the BBC\u2019s natural history programming and another that will see our professional dancers \u2018crashing\u2019 some of the BBC\u2019s flagship shows,\u201d the broadcaster has teased.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the plans for season 20, executive producer Sarah James said: \u201cWe know how much viewers love the Strictly themed weeks so it\u2019s fantastic to be able to announce a new one, celebrating the BBC\u2019s centenary.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the icing on the cake to be able to confirm that we are returning to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom this year, we can\u2019t wait to get back to Blackpool!\u201d<\/p>

The BBC recently confirmed the start date for Strictly\u2019s 2022 series after professional Johannes Radebe revealed on\u00a0The Big Breakfast<\/a> that the show begins on 17th September<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Strictly\u2019s upcoming season will see the likes of\u00a0Will Mellor<\/a>,\u00a0Kym Marsh<\/a>,\u00a0Kaye Adams<\/a>,\u00a0Richie Anderson<\/a>,\u00a0Jayde Adams<\/a>,\u00a0Ellie Simmonds<\/a>,\u00a0Tyler West<\/a>,\u00a0Matt Goss<\/a>,\u00a0Ellie Taylor,<\/a>\u00a0Molly Rainford<\/a>, Tony Adams MBE<\/a>, Fleur East<\/a>, Hamza Yassin<\/a>,\u00a0James Bye<\/a>\u00a0and Helen Skelton<\/a> take to the dance floor in the hopes of winning the coveted glitterball trophy.<\/p>\n
