Many Line of Duty<\/a> fans were shocked when season 6 finally revealed who \u2018H\u2019 was. Mostly because Nigel Boyle\u2019s blundering DSU Ian Buckells seemed an unlikely candidate to be the elusive villain who caused AC-12 so much trouble.<\/p>\n

And, it turns out, they may be right. At least that\u2019s according to Adrian Dunbar, who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings on the tense crime drama.<\/p>\n

During a chat with Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, the actor was asked whether viewers who think Buckells is \u2018H\u2019 are assuming too much.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes! He\u2019s not \u2018H\u2019,\u201d he said, before adding: \u201cWe just got the guy we could actually pin a charge on. We didn\u2019t get \u2018H\u2019, we got Buckells, the patsy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThere\u2019s a scene when we look at each other and think: \u2018Really? This t**t?\u2019 He\u2019s a distraction.\u201d<\/p>

When Chief Constable Philip Osborne (Owen Teale) was mentioned as the potential real \u2018H\u2019, Dunbar appeared to agree, saying: \u201cThat\u2019s probably where it\u2019s heading, unless there\u2019s another twist and someone\u2019s pulling his strings.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latter is entirely possible, considering creator Jed Mercurio\u2019s track record. Of course, a seventh season has yet to be confirmed by the BBC, but Dunbar seems optimistic, and even said he\u2019s \u201choping something might happen next year\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Whether it returns as a full season, a movie or a different format remains to be seen.<\/p>\n
