Thirty years after the show first debuted on ITV, Gladiators is officially coming back<\/a>, this time on the BBC.<\/p>\n Now, the broadcaster has addressed whether any of the classic cast will be returning for the new run of episodes.<\/p>\n When asked about the reboot at a panel for the Edinburgh International TV Festival 2022, director of BBC Unscripted Kate Phillips said that she\u2019s \u201cnot sure\u201d if favourites such as Wolf will be back, but added that \u201cthere\u2019ll certainly be some terrific new Gladiators\u201d.<\/p>\n Phillips also addressed why the broadcaster has decided to bring the show back, referring to comments made on the same panel<\/a> by BBC\u2019s Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore who said it \u201ctakes a lot of creativity\u201d to make a successful reboot.<\/p>\n Phillips said: \u201cWhen [producers] MGM and Hungry Bear brought us Gladiators, we didn\u2019t just say, \u2018Yeah, Gladiators, let\u2019s do that!\u2019 \u2013 there was quite a long development period, because our first question, like Charlotte said, was, \u2018Well, how do you reboot it?
