It\u2019s already been 13 years since the release of Oscar-nominated sci-fi flick District 9 \u2013 and in the time since, there\u2019s been near constant talk of a sequel.<\/p>\n

Director Neill Blomkamp has made no secret of his desire to make District 10 over the years, and he gave fans reason to rejoice last year when he revealed that he was moving ahead with a script co-written by Terri Tatchell and Sharlto Copley.<\/p>\n

But in an exclusive interview with RadioTimes.com<\/a> to promote his role in the new film Beast, Copley \u2013 who played the main character Wikus van de Merwe in District 9 \u2013 has teased that the sequel could still be a while away yet.<\/p>

\u201cNeill\u2019s got to stop lying to the public, because it\u2019s creating havoc,\u201d he joked. \u201cIt\u2019s like if you say you\u2019re going to do it, dude, just do it because now I\u2019m sitting trying to\u2026\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just there was a timing thing with what was going on socio-politically that he was concerned about,\u201d he added. \u201cHe just wants to sort of time it right.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it looks like it\u2019s going to be another two years. But you know, what\u2019s another two years once it\u2019s been like, what, 12? So hopefully we\u2019re shooting in like two years time. Let\u2019s see.\u201d<\/p>\n
