Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story<\/a>, co-created by Murphy and Ian Brennan, will chronicle the life and crimes of the infamous American serial killer, told through the eyes of his victims.<\/p>\n Peters\u2019s casting was first announced back in March 2021, following\u00a0hot on the heels of his surprise guest role on Marvel series\u00a0WandaVision<\/a>.<\/p>\n Now,\u00a0a first-look image of Peters in character as the serial killer<\/a> has been released, and\u00a0the actor appears to bear an uncanny resemblance to the murderer.<\/p>\n Peters<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>has collaborated with Murphy on a number of projects in the past, including\u00a0<\/span>American Horror Story<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and the series\u00a0<\/span>Pose<\/a>.<\/p>\n He previously spoke out about his casting and the research he had undertaken for the role, telling\u00a0<\/span>Variety:<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI\u2019ve read so much, I\u2019ve watched so much, I\u2019ve seen so much, and at a certain point, you\u2019ve got to say, \u2018All right, that\u2019s enough.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThere are beautifully written scripts. You can have all the backstory you want, but at the end of the day we\u2019re not making a documentary.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s more about maintaining the idea and the through line of why you\u2019re telling the story and always having that as your guiding light.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Various other cast members have also been announced, including Niecy Nash, who plays Glenda Cleveland, a real-life neighbour of Dahmer\u2019s who reported him to the police.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s everything you need to know about Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no official release date yet for Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, but it\u2019s set to land on Netflix before the end of 2022.<\/p>\n The chilling story has previously been brought to life in the 2002 movie Dahmer, starring Jeremy Renner in the titular role, as well as 2017\u2019s My Friend Dahmer, which featured Ross Lynch as a teenage version of the killer.<\/p> The series is based on the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 men and boys over a period spanning from 1978 until his eventual capture in 1991.<\/p>\n The limited series will focus on the victim and delve into the police impotence which allowed Dahmer to evade capture of numerous occasions, including a now infamous 1991 incident when a 14-year-old victim, Konerak Sinthasomphone, escaped Dahmer\u2019s flat and was discovered, bleeding and drugged, by several women who dialled 911.<\/p>\n However, when the police arrived on the scene, Dahmer convinced them that it was a domestic disturbance between adult lovers and that Sinthasomphone was drunk, and they returned Sinthasomphone to Dahmer\u2019s flat, where he was killed.<\/p>\n Netflix\u00a0has cast Evan Peters<\/strong> in the titular role as Jeffrey Dahmer.<\/p>\n Richard Jenkins<\/strong>\u00a0(The Shape of Water) will play Lionel Dahmer, a chemist and father to Jeffrey.<\/p>\n Glenda Cleveland, a real-life neighbour of Dahmer\u2019s who had called the police and attempted to warn them of Dahmer (to no avail), will be a leading role in the series.
