ITV singing competition The Voice will soon be back on our screens for its 11th season, with judges Tom Jones, Willi.i.am, Olly Murs and Anne-Marie reprising their position in those red chairs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Last year\u2019s final saw new coach Anne-Marie emerge victorious with singer Craig Eddie.<\/p>\n
Each singer performed twice \u2013 singing on their own and in a duet with their coach, after which came a vote to decide who would go into the final two. She has hosted the series since 2013, after taking over from Holly Willoughby when the show aired on BBC One.<\/p>\n
Willis \u2013 who is currently presenting Channel 4\u2019s The Circle<\/a> \u2013 returned for the 2021 season, so we could well see back on stage for season 11.<\/p>\n Not yet, but we do know that the applications have closed for the 2022 season, meaning they\u2019re bound to be announced pretty soon.<\/p>\n To apply for the 2023 season, contestants need to fill out an online application form<\/a> on the ITV website.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not yet known what ITV have planned for the new season.<\/p>\n Last year, they introduced the \u2018block\u2019 button, which allowed each coach to stop one of their fellow mentors from adding a particular singer to their team.<\/p>\n However, all four coaches could only use this tool once.<\/p>\n Speaking of the new feature, Olly Murs previously revealed The Voice UK\u2019s block button<\/a> had made the coaches more competitive, saying: \u201cIt\u2019s a great feature this year and I really think this is the start of something new with the show. \u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cI think there\u2019ll be other features along the way that might happen at some point, but I just think it gives a whole new element \u2013 like who is Sir Tom going to block? Who\u2019s Will gonna block? Who\u2019s Olly gonna block? If anything, it\u2019s all about who I block really. You\u2019ll see why when you watch the show.\u201d<\/p>\n Other than the block button, the 2021 season followed the usual format, starting off with the blind auditions, where the contestants sing to the backs of the coaches who then press their button to swivel around if they like the act, or stay as they are if not.<\/p>\n Next, was The Voice UK battle rounds where the judges chopped their teams down even further.<\/p>\n Usually, the knockout stage would follow, with artists performing a \u2018killer song\u2019 of their choosing and the coaches picking three members from their team to go through to the semi-finals.<\/p>\n However, in 2021 the show decided to go without this stage, and had two semi-final shows instead, before one act was chosen by each coach to represent them in the final.<\/p>\n The Voice UK will return to ITV\u00a0on Saturday 3rd September at 8pm.\u00a0<\/strong>Looking for something else to watch?
