Executive producer Ildy Modrovich told fans at Comic-Con that they can expect more returning faces to come, and the return of a former guest star. Producer Joe Henderson added: \u201cWe found one character we have talked about but have never seen in this season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We can also expect to see more from DB Woodside as the celestial Amenadiel and Rachael Harris as therapist Dr Linda Martin, with the duo still co-parenting their mortal son.<\/p>\n<p>Aimee Garcia will also return as LAPD colleague Ella Lopez but it remains to be seen whether Kevin Alejandro will make an appearance as the hilariously awkward <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/fantasy\/lucifer-season-5b-dan-dead-exclusive-newsupdate\/&quot;\">Detective Dan<\/a> Espinoza.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the character was tragically killed off in the second half of season five but, given that this show has visited the afterlife multiple times before, we\u2019re not ruling out a cameo \u2013 perhaps in the final episode.<\/p>\n<p>Lesley Ann-Brandt and Inbar Lavi will be returning as Mazikeen and Eve respectively, whose romance was just getting off the ground towards the end of season five. A whole new character!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We do know that Merrin Dungey (The Resident) is joining the cast for season six, where she will play a non-nonsense cop named Sonya who strikes up a bond with Amenadiel, who\u2019s been considering joining the force.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/movies\/deadpool-3-cinema-release-date-cast-plot-trailer-mcu-ryan-reynolds\/&quot;\" He has a lot of love to give and he will receive a lot of love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Woodside will also step behind the camera for season six to try his hand at directing, confirming to <a href=\"\/\/tvline.com\/2021\/05\/14\/lucifer-season-5-db-woodside-interview\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener noopener noreferrer\">TVLine<\/a> that his entry in the Lucifer saga is a bottle episode, i.e. taking place in a single location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy episode is unlike any episode that people have seen,\u201d he told the publication. \u201cIt takes place over one long night, and it\u2019s everyone kind of sitting around talking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I can say is that it was a lot of fun and I feel privileged to have received that episode, because I think you\u2019re going to see some of the cast in ways that you haven\u2019t been able to see them before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is also an urge by the creators to address social issues in the real world.
