Brassic will be missing one of the gang when it returns for its fifth season.<\/p>\n
Following the events of season 4, Damien Molony will not return to the Sky series as a series regular, RadioTimes.com<\/a> can confirm.<\/p>\n Molony plays Dylan \u2013 best friend to Vinnie (Joseph Gilgun) and ex-boyfriend of Erin (Michelle Keegan) \u2013 and has been part of the show\u2019s main cast since it began in 2019.<\/p>\n The most recent season of Brassic<\/a> saw Dylan incur the wrath of local crooks the McDonagh brothers \u2013 in the final scenes of episode 8, he was grabbed up by a pair of hired thugs and bundled violently into the back of a car, his fate left uncertain.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/strong> about his exit, Molony said: \u201cThey were really exciting scenes to film, no doubt, but also emotional for me, because I\u2019ve had four incredible years of, essentially, laughing and to suddenly shoot these scenes on my own, without the gang\u2026 there were a couple of moments that night where I was like, \u2018This is the end\u2026’\u201d<\/p>\n Though he will not be back as a regular, Molony added that \u201cthere\u2019ll be a little bit, I think, in series 5\u201d to resolve Dylan\u2019s fate.<\/p>\n Further addressing his departure, the actor said: \u201cI will be devastated when the messages from the [cast] WhatsApp group start coming in, in the next few weeks, when people are saying, \u2018Oh my God, do you remember when this happened on set?\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s very exciting for the show to lose a member of the team and to see how that affects the group dynamic. [But] it\u2019s a sad day.\u201d<\/p> Michelle Keegan also spoke to RadioTimes.com\u00a0<\/strong>about Molony\u2019s exit, insisting he is \u201cgoing to be missed\u201d on the Brassic set as filming on season 5 gets underway.<\/p>\n \u201cDamo\u2019s an integral part \u2013 and Dylan, obviously \u2013 of the show, and we\u2019re going to really, really miss him,\u201d said Keegan. \u201cThere\u2019s going to be a feeling, when you go on set, that something\u2019s missing.\u201d<\/p>\n In a statement, a production spokesperson said: \u201cSky\u2019s Brassic is recognised for its exceptional ensemble cast\u00a0and to have Damien play Dylan for four successful series has been truly amazing.
