Millie Gibson says that filming her character Kelly Neelan\u2019s exit<\/a> from Coronation Street<\/a> has been an incredibly emotional experience for her.<\/p>\n

Kelly is set to find out that her guardian Gary Windass (Mikey North) is the true killer<\/a> of her father Rick (Greg Wood). This paves the way for a shocking showdown between the pair, which begins with Kelly plotting Gary\u2019s murder and culminates with the pair on a rooftop<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Whether Kelly is successful in her revenge remains to be seen, but behind the scenes, Gibson reveals that there have been plenty of tears.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a wreck! If you ask anyone, there was a good two weeks where I was just crying constantly. I think I was just so overwhelmed and so grateful of the scenes and the storyline that had been given to me,\u201d she reveals.<\/p>\n

The star adds that there\u2019s a particularly memorable on-screen moment on the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a specific scene that sticks out to me where basically, throughout mine and Gary\u2019s relationship, we\u2019ve never hugged. We\u2019ve always been like, \u2018Why\u2019ve you never hugged me? Even when I\u2019m breaking down in a basement, you\u2019ve never hugged me!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cBut there was a scene where Gary hugs Kelly, and it\u2019s a really simple scene. As soon as we did it, I just burst out crying.\u00a0It was just like, \u2018It\u2019s the beginning of the end now!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI think when we started filming our last scenes of being nice to each other, that\u2019s when we were like, \u2018Oh, gosh, this is getting real now!\u2019 It\u2019s been an emotional journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked if there wasn\u2019t as much acting required in these sad scenes, Gibson says: \u201cNo, not really!\u201d She also adds that working with co-star Mikey North, who plays Gary, has been a highlight.<\/p>

\u201cIt\u2019s so beautiful, our relationship on and off-screen,\u201d she explains. \u201cIt\u2019s just been really emotional thinking [that] we\u2019re never going to act together again. [On] mine and Mikey\u2019s last scene, I could not stop [crying] \u2013 I\u2019ve never cried on a film set more, even on the line run.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like a seven page scene with just me and Mikey, and I was like, \u2018I\u2019m going have to try and save this\u2019, but it was so hard. But I\u2019m so excited to see it because it\u2019s a really good scene. It kind of wraps it all up, but it\u2019s really sad!\u201d<\/p>\n

As revealed by Coronation Street\u2019s Executive Producer Iain MacLeod<\/a>, Kelly\u2019s exit has been filmed using new technology \u2013 and Gibson is full of excitement and praise for the whole team.<\/p>\n

She says: \u201cIt\u2019s been incredible; I can\u2019t tell you how insane the set\u2019s been. The first day I stepped onto the volume wall I was like, \u2018Oh my gosh, we\u2019re in Hollywood!\u2019 It was just incredible.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was really long days and I [was] exhausted, but the cast and crew and producers, they\u2019ve all been so, so amazing and I don\u2019t know what I could have done without them. We\u2019ve had the best crew on this journey, and just acting around a digital wall has been crazy!\u201d<\/p>\n
