The pair have worked together several times before, of course, and according to their co-stars, it was \u201ca joy\u201d to work alongside them on the new movie.<\/p>\n
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Kaitlyn Dever \u2013 who plays the daughter of Clooney and Roberts\u2019 characters \u2013 was asked if working with such a high-profile double act forces other actors on set to raise their game.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, I think you kind of put those expectations on yourself,\u201d she responded.\u00a0 \u201cAnd then once you actually meet them and start doing the scenes, you kind of get into a flow of it \u2013 and the chemistry in the scene feels really easy.<\/p>\n \u201cSo it felt kind of effortless in the moment, but like before and leading up to it, you know, it\u2019s nerve wracking. I mean, it\u2019s George Clooney and Julia Roberts in one movie and that\u2019s a lot!\u201d<\/p> She added: \u201cTheir friendship is just an amazing thing to be around, their energy together is so joyful. They love making each other laugh and everybody around them laugh. It was just a really special experience.\u201d<\/p>\n Co-star Billie Lourd, who plays Dever\u2019s character\u2019s best friend, picked out one scene in particular in which she was wowed by Clooney and Roberts \u2013 when they begin a rather energetic dance routine in the middle of a game of beer pong.<\/p>\n \u201cThat beer pong scene \u2013 no choreography necessary,\u201d she said. \u201cThose kids can dance. They really brought the noise for lack of a better term. Literally, it was a loud night. But they were amazing. That was basically all improv and George Clooney is fire at beer pong.<\/p>\n \u201cI wish I could play beer pong like that,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut that was a really fun night. And they\u2019re good dancers \u2013 the sweat was real, like they were really getting into it. And they sweat well, but they were sweating!\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, another star of the film \u2013 Emily in Paris actor Lucas Bravo<\/a> \u2013 described working with Clooney and Roberts as \u201csurreal\u201d and said he kept expecting it to fall through at the last minute.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I heard the news, I never really truly believed it,\u201d he said. \u201cI was kind of waiting for it to happen that they would be like, \u2018There\u2019s something wrong, it\u2019s not possible.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then when we got to set, they go out of their way so much to make this set so safe and for everybody to be on the same level. And so it was just amazing to see them work. They\u2019re just such professionals.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cAfter so many years of perfecting their craft, they\u2019re still like little kids that come to set. They\u2019re excited about everything, George is just helping the set decorator to put back some stuff, they\u2019re just such a big part of the dynamic on set.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I guess that\u2019s what you want when you\u2019re at that level in your career. You set the tone on set, and they just made it.
