The producers also discussed Idris Elba\u2019s recent comments saying he didn\u2019t want to play Bond<\/a>, despite being a fan favourite candidate, and explained that the time commitment is a factor in the decision.<\/p>\n \u201cThe thing is, it\u2019s going to be a couple of years off,\u201d Broccoli said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd when we cast Bond, it\u2019s a 10-, 12-year commitment. So [Idris Elba\u2019s] probably thinking, \u2018Do I really want that thing? Not everybody wants to do that.
