Countryfile\u2019s\u00a0Helen Skelton<\/a> was the final contestant<\/a> to be announced for Strictly Come Dancing 2022 \u2013 and while plenty of her colleagues have previously competed on the show, the broadcaster has revealed why she finally decided to sign up.<\/p>\n

Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press, Skelton said that she wanted to do the BBC One show because of how fun it is.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fun and it\u2019s positive and it\u2019s shiny and it\u2019s feel good. My mum is excited, my dad is excited, even my brother \u2013 and I love him when I say this \u2013 he\u2019s like the most serious man in the world, even he\u2019s excited. So that\u2019s why I\u2019m doing it because it\u2019ll be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI think any parent goes to work because you\u2019ve got to work and if you get to do a job that your kids like, lucky winner winner.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TV presenter, who is best known for embarking on various challenges whilst hosting Blue Peter, also said that rehearsing for Strictly Come Dancing has been a very different experience to the expeditions she previously undertook.<\/p>

\u201cNormally I\u2019m on my own, or like in our world, you\u2019re often on your own. Not in a lonely way, but just the nature of your work,\u201d she said. \u201cWhereas this, it\u2019s nice to be in and around people that are in the same [boat] \u2013 well, we\u2019ve crossed paths over the years, but we\u2019ve never hung out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s nice to be sharing something in a team. It\u2019s like that team mentality. So I think that\u2019s the main difference for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joining Skelton on the dance floor this year will be the likes of James Bye<\/a>,\u00a0Molly Rainford<\/a>,\u00a0Will Mellor<\/a>,\u00a0Kym Marsh<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kaye Adams<\/a>, amongst other stars.<\/p>\n
