The actor said things have gone “quiet” for his character so he can prepare for the dance floor. <\/p>

EastEnders actor James Bye<\/a> will be taking to the\u00a0Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> dance floor this year, following in the footsteps of many of his previous and current co-stars, including 2021 winner Rose Ayling-Ellis.<\/p>\n

Bye has been playing Martin Fowler on the soap since 2014, and during a chat with RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press, the actor opened up about the changes the EastEnders<\/a> team have made to accommodate his Strictly schedule.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the moment, while the show starts, they\u2019ve given me a bit of time just to sort of prep and get involved,\u201d he said. But what does this mean for Martin? Well, it sounds as though he\u2019ll be back on track in no time.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then as the show goes on, I think I\u2019m going to be immersed a bit more in EastEnders and stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that EastEnders \u201chave been great\u201d, explaining that they had to \u201cquiet [things] down a bit\u201d for the character. Recently, it has been anything but quiet for Martin, whose daughter Lily was involved in a dangerous drug plot.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I can get myself ready for Strictly,\u201d he continued.\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t know if that\u2019s going to continue for the rest of the journey, but they\u2019ve been fantastic up to now.\u201d<\/p>
