Comedian and actress Jayde Adams<\/a> is ready for the glitz and glamour of Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 line-up<\/a> donning their sequins and getting their spray tans applied, it was revealed last night which professionals the celebs have been paired with<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This season will see two same-sex couples for the first time, with Jayde dancing with Karen Hauer, while radio presenter Richie Anderson<\/a> is paired with Giovanni Pernice.<\/p>\n

Speaking to press including RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Jayde recalled how she had tweeted her desire to join Strictly as part of an all-female couple years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said it on Twitter four years ago,\u201d she said. \u201cI was watching the show and then I was like, \u2018If I was on Strictly, I\u2019d like to be with a woman because then I could lift her.\u2019<\/p>

\u201cBecause whenever you have partnerships where you have a plus size guy, it\u2019s easy for him because he can always lift the girl. But when you have it the other way round, and you have that imbalance, it\u2019s like, you know, the guys are great but they\u2019re not rugby players.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to explain that she felt she\u2019d be able to \u201cget into all the acrobatics\u201d if she had a female dance partner, adding: \u201cAnd now I\u2019ve got the person to do that with.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Jayde said she and Karen were referring to their pairing as an \u201call-woman partnership\u201d, saying: \u201cI think we\u2019re going to have a lot of fun together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Telling press she danced competitively as a child, Jayde said she thought the opportunity to be able to lift her professional partner would mean they could add a new level of entertainment value and excitement to their routines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m now going to be at a stage where I\u2019m going to be able to really push myself and add this thing into our act that I\u2019m actually super confident I can do but is also going to be really entertaining for the audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Additional reporting by Lauren Morris.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Strictly Come Dancing 2022\u2019s first live show airs tonight (Saturday 24th September) at 6:45pm on BBC One.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you\u2019re looking for more to watch, check out our <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/tv-listings\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">TV Guide<\/a>.
