The second season of cutthroat finance drama Industry<\/a> is available now in the UK, with all eight episodes streaming on BBC iPlayer alongside a weekly airing on Tuesday nights on BBC One.<\/p>\n

The new episodes have already earned a rave reception from critics in the US, where season 2 launched in August, and while a third run is yet to be officially green-lit, series co-creator Konrad Kay told RadioTimes.com<\/a> that he and co-writer Mickey Down are \u201cpretty far along\u201d in plotting the show\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, the truth is, we\u2019re always far along because regardless of whether we get to do it again, me and Mickey been living with these characters for six years,\u201d he said in an exclusive interview.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe live in each other\u2019s other\u2019s pockets \u2013 when we\u2019re not working together, we\u2019re still best friends, so how can we not be talking about where Eric (Ken Leung) goes next, or what Harper (Myha\u2019la Herrold) does next\u2026<\/span><\/p>

\u201cWe were talking about this stuff when we were in post[-production] on season 2 \u2013 what happens next? Mickey might have a great idea, and then I have [another] idea, and suddenly the whole thing becomes super alive again, because <\/span>you get to the end of season 2, and you\u2019re like, \u2018F**king hell, that was two years, that was really hard.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe told this story, we told it to the best of our ability, and you feel a little bit creatively inert. But you\u2019d be amazed how one image, one idea, and you\u2019re suddenly like, \u2018F**k, that\u2019s another eight hours of TV\u2019, almost from one image, because from one image the character is in a space that you thought they would never be in. And you\u2019re like, \u2018OK, well, that\u2019s the runway for the whole of season 3.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But will it happen? Kay says he and Down \u201creally want\u201d to explore the further misadventures of Pierpoint\u2019s fiercely ambitious young graduates. \u201cIt was a huge privilege to do two [seasons] and we\u2019re very happy with the second season, but we\u2019d love it for for it not to be the full stop on this series.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued:\u00a0\u201cIf it is the full stop on the series, we think it\u2019s a good one. But we love the characters \u2013 we\u2019re very lucky to have assembled, genuinely, one of the best casts on TV, and that\u2019s one thing where you don\u2019t have to be modest about it, because it\u2019s other people and they\u2019re all sensational. So we would love to continue to work with them, because it\u2019s a privilege to have such exceptional people do our writing.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be fantastic to get to do more \u2013 our very nature as a creative partnership is we\u2019re always thinking about the runway for more than one or two seasons.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
