Netflix has unveiled the cast for Money Heist spin-off Berlin<\/a>, which is set to begin shooting in October 2022.<\/p>\n

Pedro Alonso, who helms the series as sharp jewel thief Andr\u00e9s de Fonollosa, AKA Berlin, will be joined by a brand new gang for the prequel, which is set before the events of Money Heist.<\/p>\n

Michelle Jenner (The Cook of Castamar) will play electronics specialist Keila, while Trist\u00e1n Ulloa (Warrior Nun) appears as Dami\u00e1n, Berlin\u2019s confidant and philanthropic professor. Welcome to Eden\u2019s Bego\u00f1a Vargas plays the unstable Cameron, Julio Pe\u00f1a Fern\u00e1ndez (Through My Window) appears as Roi while Joel S\u00e1nchez is man of action Bruce.<\/p>\n

Money Heist creators Esther Mart\u00ednez Lobato and \u00c1lex Pina co-wrote the prequel, which consists of eight episodes. Speaking of the concept, Mart\u00ednez Lobato said during a Netflix<\/a> event in Madrid that they\u00a0\u201cloved the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state\u201d.<\/p>\n

Production for the series is expected to last several weeks, with shooting taking place in both Madrid and Paris. A Korean version of the show, Money Heist: Korea<\/a>, aired earlier this year. Despite receiving mixed reviews<\/a>, it\u2019s been picked up for another season.<\/p>
