Rumours and speculation have been rampant around the celebrations, written by returning showrunner Russell T Davies, which are confirmed to feature David Tennant and Catherine Tate<\/a> as the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble.<\/p>\n Some have wondered whether other incarnations of The Doctor could also appear to mark the occasion, but the latest comments from Capaldi appear to rule out the Twelfth.<\/p>\n In an interview with SFX Magazine<\/a>, he expressed concern that cramming too many Doctors into a single episode would lead to few, if any, getting the screen time that fans would want.<\/p> \u201cIt\u2019s very hard to imagine how you\u2019d get a decent crack of the whip when there\u2019s 14 of you, you know? So I think I\u2019d rather leave it as is, because I loved my time on Doctor Who<\/a> and loved doing it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t want to be Doctor Who\u2019s assistant. [Laughs] It used to drive me insane on Doctor Who, not being able to talk about anything. It\u2019s like, \u2018Who cares?!\u2019 But then I get into trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n Capaldi went on to discuss the responsibility that comes with playing The Doctor and the way in which it changes the public\u2019s perception of you.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a way, when you\u2019re Doctor Who you sort of become another person,\u201d he explained. \u201cBecause you sort of embody that when you\u2019re in public so you have to be able to turn that on. But it\u2019s not necessarily natural to all of us.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s true \u2013 I\u2019ve talked to the others about it. You don\u2019t want to disappoint people, you really don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to the 60th anniversary celebrations, we have the BBC centenary special coming up this month, which will be the final episode to feature Jodie Whittaker\u2019s Thirteenth Doctor.
