The jacket made an appearance during Aldred\u2019s initial Doctor Who run, which saw streetwise teenager Ace join Sylvester McCoy\u2019s Doctor on the TARDIS from 1987 to 1989. During a chat with SFX Magazine<\/strong>, Aldred revealed she had kept the jacket all this time.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s sat in my wardrobe for all these years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n And though her character appears to have opted for a sharp blazer in later years (at least judging by the images released by the BBC so far), SFX revealed that Ace will don the old bomber again. Not only that, but it\u2019s the same one Aldred wore all those years ago.<\/p>\n She explained: \u201cWhen I had that initial meeting with Chris, I said, \u2018I\u2019ve still got my jacket\u2026\u2019. He said [gasps], \u2018Have you? We\u2019d love to see your jacket!\u2019 So the first costume fitting, I took the jacket down to Cardiff.<\/p>\n \u201c[Costume designer] Ray Holman said, \u2018Can we borrow this to copy?\u2019 and I said, \u2018Why copy it? We\u2019ll just use the jacket. You might have to sew the badges on again, though.\u2019 Because the badges notoriously always fell off.\u201d<\/p>\n Aldred revealed the badges had to be glued back on. \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s any way you could spruce it up, really, because you can\u2019t wash it or anything.
