{"id":2329,"date":"2021-07-28T17:08:17","date_gmt":"2021-07-28T15:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/?p=1201017"},"modified":"2021-07-28T17:08:17","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T15:08:17","slug":"how-to-get-tickets-to-the-bbc-proms-2021","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/radiotimes\/rss_feed\/how-to-get-tickets-to-the-bbc-proms-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"How to get tickets to the BBC Proms 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"> Audiences can now return to the BBC&#8217;s annual celebration of live music. <\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By Daniel Furn\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Wednesday, 28 July 2021 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n<p>After a multi-platform virtual event last year, the BBC Proms will be making a triumphant return to Royal Albert Hall this year to celebrate the venue\u2019s 150th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Audiences will be welcomed back for a celebration of live music not seen since before the pandemic, but the world\u2019s largest classical music festival can still be enjoyed at home as the BBC has once again confirmed extensive coverage of the event.<\/p>\n<p>With over 2,000 musicians performing at over 52 concerts over 44 days, there\u2019s an awful lot of world-class music to enjoy whether you\u2019re watching from concert hall seats or the sofa of your living room.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are still available despite the six-week season now starting up \u2013 here\u2019s how to get tickets to the BBC Proms 2021, and how to watch and listen to the prestigious concerts at home.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How can I watch and listen to BBC Proms 2021?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re unlucky enough to not get a ticket, never fear \u2013 the BBC has been broadcasting the Proms since 1927.<\/p>\n<p>As usual BBC Radio 3 will be broadcasting every single note of the Proms live, along with Proms-themed editions of Record Review and In Tune. Concerts will also be broadcast live on BBC Sounds, and will be available on-demand until 30 days after Last Night along with Proms-themed mixes.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty Proms will also be broadcast on BBC television and will also be available on iPlayer. This includes the ever-popular First Night and Last Night which will air live on BBC Two, with the famous second half of Last Night switching over to BBC One.<\/p>\n<p>Other key concerts will be broadcast on BBC Two on Saturday nights, along with regular Prom coverage on BBC Four every Thursday, Friday and Sunday throughout all six weeks of the concert season.<\/p>\n<p>Confirmed TV coverage includes the Kanneh-Mason Family performing Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 Carnival Of Animals, The Golden Age Of Broadway with BBC Concert Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle leading the London Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of Stravinsky.<\/p>\n<p>Organist and broadcaster Anna Lapwood and <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/mastermind-clive-myrie-host\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">new Mastermind host<\/a> Clive Myrie will be joining the presenting line-up, which includes returning regulars such as BBC Radio 1 host <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/talent-shows\/clara-amfo-strictly-come-dancing-2020-contestant\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Clara Amfo<\/a> and long-term face of the Proms and newscaster Katie Derham.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>When are the BBC Proms 2021?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Proms begin on <strong>Friday 30th July<\/strong> with the First Night of the Proms, which will open with Ralph Vaughan Williams\u2019s Serenade To Music that first premiered at the Royal Albert Hall under Proms founder Henry Wood in 1938.<\/p>\n<p>The Proms will then finish on <strong>Saturday 11th September<\/strong> with the Last Night of the Proms, led by tenor Stuart Skelton and accordionist Ksenija Sidorova.
