Following his success with shows such as The Hauntings of Hill House and Bly Manor and last year\u2019s Midnight Mass, the writer\/director\u2019s latest new series is The Midnight Club<\/a> \u2013 based on a young adult novel of the same name by Christopher Pike.<\/p>\n In an approach not too dissimilar to the one taken by Flanagan in previous shows, the series also borrows from other novels by the same author \u2013 read on for everything you need to know.<\/p>\n Although The Midnight Club is primarily based on the novel of the same name \u2013 which was a standalone story \u2013 like previous Flanagan shows the writer\/director has also borrowed from other works by the same author.<\/p>\n \u201cI grew up reading Christopher Pike,\u201d Flanagan explained on Twitter. \u201cHis stories were a constant through my teenage years, and this show is based on several of his books.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to play in his sandbox, and to help introduce him to a new generation.\u201d<\/p>\n I grew up reading Christopher Pike.
