With new showrunner Natalie Chaidez (Queen of the South) at the helm for season two, the second series is set to explore Cassie\u2019s sobriety, with Cuoco recently telling Deadline<\/a>\u2018s Contenders Television awards-season event: \u201cWe are going to be adding in that slight CIA asset on the side.<\/p>\n \u201c[Cassie] moves to L.A., first year sober, and she makes all the wrong decisions on what you\u2019re not supposed to do when you become sober and she\u2019s going to learn very quickly that it\u2019s not as easy as she thought.\u201d<\/p>\n With Zosia Mamet and T.R. Knight returning to The Flight Attendant cast<\/a> for season two, it\u2019s time to buckle up for an exciting second series.<\/p>\n If you need reminding of what happened in the season one finale, make sure to check out our Flight Attendant finale recap<\/a>, or read on for everything you need to know about season two.<\/p>\n HBO confirmed back in December that The Flight Attendant would return for a second series.<\/p>\n \u201cTo say that I am elated would be an understatement!\u201d said\u00a0star Kaley Cuoco in a statement. \u201cThe positive response to our show has surpassed all of our expectations and I\u2019m so proud of the entire team behind its success.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that with HBO Max, Warner Bros, showrunner Steve Yockey and producers Suzanne McCormack and Mackenzie Shade, she\u2019s \u201ccommitted to delivering diverse and quality entertainment, including an exciting (and probably a little crazy) TFA season two\u201d.<\/p>\n While we don\u2019t yet have an official release date for The Flight Attendant season two, it doesn\u2019t look like Cassie and her cabin crew will be back before next year.<\/p>\n Speaking at a virtual presentation with AT&T investors, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar said that the show\u2019s second series won\u2019t be released on HBOMax in the US until\u00a0Spring 2022<\/strong>, according to AdWeek<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fans in the UK may have to wait a little longer if the season one release date is anything to go by. The Flight Attendant premiered in the US towards the end of November 2020 but the series didn\u2019t land on Sky One until 19th March 2021. Therefore, it\u2019s possible that UK fans won\u2019t be watching season two until\u00a0Autumn 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press in March, the show\u2019s star Kaley Cuoco revealed that filming is set to begin \u201cat the end of this year\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIt will stay international. Obviously, we don\u2019t know what the world will look like then, but we don\u2019t know what it will look like tomorrow, so we\u2019re hoping that we will be able to do some real travel by then and keep the show authentic.\u201d<\/p>\n In June, Cuoco told WWD<\/a> that season two is well underway, with shooting set to start in the autumn. \u201cNow I feel like the work really starts; it\u2019s harder because I want to make sure it\u2019s even better than the first. And I think more eyes are going to be on us now,\u201d she said.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s an added pressure, but it\u2019s good. It\u2019s making us really want to come out with some really fun storyline.\u201d<\/p> *Spoilers ahead for The Flight Attendant season one*<\/strong><\/p>\n While The Flight Attendant\u2019s first series solved Alex Sokolov\u2019s murder, there\u2019s still a lot for series two to explore. In the series finale, we saw Cassie\u2019s colleague Shane (Griffin Matthews) \u2013 who turned out to secretly be a CIA agent \u2013 tell her that the agency want to recruit her for a human asset programme \u2013 but will Cassie take him up on that offer?<\/p>\n Before the series was renewed, Kaley Cuoco told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u00a0that she already had ideas for a second series, saying: \u201cWe have always had a vision for a season two.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have had a very clear path for what a season two would look like, we know exactly what it\u2019ll look like, and we hope we\u2019ll get the opportunity to do that,\u201d she said, with showrunner Steve Yockey adding that series two will be \u201canother adventure with Cassie Bowden, flight attendant.\u201d<\/p>\n Cuoco gave fans more plot details, revealing that the follow-up series will follow Cassie as she tries to \u201clive a sober life\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cAs we know, she\u2019s very impatient, so she thinks that things are going to be super-easy, that this is going to be no big deal, and she\u2019s going to realise really<\/em> fast that this is going to be a lifelong struggle for her,\u201d she told TVLine<\/a>.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Yockey told TVLine<\/a> that Cassie\u2019s \u201cmind palace\u201d \u2013 the scenes in which viewers get a peak at the character\u2019s inner monologue \u2013 would return \u201cin some way, shape or form\u201d, although it doesn\u2019t look like Alex Sokolov will be living inside Cassie\u2019s head this time.<\/p>\n \u201cIn our finale, episode eight, she has that beautiful moment where she walks through the mind palace and shuts it all down, basically, so I think that iteration of the mind palace is done,\u201d Yockey said. \u201cThat one has to do with Alex, and she\u2019s moved on from that, but there would be some new version of it that would have to exist in a series, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n In June, Cuoco revealed that Cassie\u2019s mind palace will still exist in season two but used in a different way. \u201cWe will still have the mind palace. I can say that she will be facing herself,\u201d told WWD<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fans are also bound to have questions when it comes to Megan (Rosie Perez) \u2013 Cassie\u2019s airline colleague who went on the run in the series finale after selling state secrets to the North Korean government.<\/p>\n \u201cWe need to find Rosie\u2019s character \u2013 Megan became such a fan favourite and that will be a really big storyline,\u201d Cuoco told TVLine. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to see where that goes.\u201d<\/p>\n More recently, Kaley Cuoco revealed that season two will see Cassie move to LA to train as an FBI agent and approach her first year of sobriety.<\/p>\n \u201cI was very clear when we decided we wanted to do a second season, that I didn\u2019t want Cassie to all of a sudden be like an amazing FBI agent,\u201d she told Deadline<\/a>\u2018s Contenders Television awards-season event.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are going to be adding in that slight CIA asset on the side. [Cassie] moves to L.A., first year sober, and she makes all the wrong decisions on what you\u2019re not supposed to do when you become sober and she\u2019s going to learn very quickly that it\u2019s not as easy as she thought.\u201d<\/p>\n We know executive producer and star Kaley Cuoco is definitely returning to The Flight Attendant as recovering alcoholic air hostess Cassie Bowden, and Cuoco has hinted that Birds of Prey\u2019s Rosie Perez will return as international fugitive Megan \u2013 but HBO has not officially confirmed any other cast members for series two just yet.<\/p>\n As for Zosia Mamet, who plays Cassie\u2019s best friend Annie Mouradian, Cuoco recently told Entertainment Weekly<\/a> that Anne will still feature in season two. \u201cI think we want [Annie] to come out and maybe look at some LA law firms so she can be near Cassie,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n As for Cassie\u2019s brother Davey, played by T.R. Knight, \u201che is going to follow her to L.A. because he\u2019s concerned about her sobriety, [but] we are going to find out that he\u2019s trying to escape some of his own issues.\u201d<\/p>\n Hopefully Terry Serpico (Bill Briscoe) and Griffin Matthews (Shane Evans) reprise their roles from the first series, although it\u2019s unlikely Michiel Huisman will be back as Alex Sokolov, considering that showrunner Steve Yockey recently revealed that Cassie\u2019s dead lover won\u2019t be haunting her \u201cmind palace\u201d in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n That being said, in July Michiel Huisman hinted to Deadline<\/a> that he could be in season two, saying: \u201cThey want me to be incredibly vague about that. I respect that these writers want to keep it nice and vague and then surprise their audience.\u201d<\/p>\n There\u2019s also a question mark over Michelle Gomez returning for season two, as her character Miranda Croft disappeared with Alex\u2019s millions in the series finale. However, she did leave Cassie a note in which she wrote, \u201cSee you soon,\u201d so hopefully she\u2019ll be back.<\/p>\n It\u2019s also possible that Colin Woodell, who played Cassie\u2019s one-night-stand Buckley, who turned out to be Alex\u2019s assassin Felix, could return, as he wasn\u2019t dead at the end of the series. While Cassie recovered from their stand-off with CIA agent Shane, we watched as an injured Felix was wheeled into an ambulance by paramedics \u2013 could he escape prison with the intention of killing Cassie again?<\/p>\n HBO Max is yet to release a trailer for The Flight Attendant season two, but we\u2019ll update this page with any new clips as and when they\u2019re released.<\/p>\n The Flight Attendant is available to watch on Sky catch-up and NOW TV.
