Jodie Whittaker\u2019s final episode of Doctor Who<\/a> \u2013 The Power of the Doctor \u2013 has debuted an action-packed new teaser.<\/p>\n

The trailer \u2013 released today (Saturday, 8th October) \u2013 provides our most exciting look yet at the special, which will air later this month<\/a> as part of the BBC\u2019s centenary celebrations.<\/p>\n\n<p>The bumper-length episode was previously teased with a shorter trailer aired after Doctor Who\u2019s Easter special <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/doctor-who-legend-of-the-sea-devils-%e2%98%85%e2%98%85\/"\">Legend of the Sea Devils<\/a>, with fans waiting four months for another glimpse at Whittaker\u2019s swansong.<\/p>\n<p>The star and Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall announced back in July 2021 that <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/jodie-whittaker-chris-chibnall-leaving-doctor-who-newsupdate\/"\">they would be departing the series together<\/a> the following year.<\/p>\n<p>The Master (Sacha Dhawan) will return for the Thirteenth Doctor\u2019s exit, while the Daleks and the Cybermen \u2013 including Ashad (Patrick O\u2019Kane), also known as the Lone Cyberman \u2013 will (Janet Fielding) and Sophie Aldred (Ace)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two more familiar faces will also appear in the special: Vinder (Jacob Anderson) and Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) will both be back, having last appeared in Doctor Who\u2019s last full series in late 2021.<\/p>\n<p>A new synopsis for the special reads: \u201cIn this feature-length Special to mark her last adventure, Jodie Whittaker\u2019s Thirteenth Doctor must fight for her very existence, against her deadliest enemies: the Daleks, the Cybermen and her arch-nemesis, the Master.<\/p>\n<p class=\""x_MsoNormal"\">\u201cWho is attacking a speeding bullet train on the edges of a distant galaxy? Why are seismologists going missing from 21st century Earth? Who is defacing some of history\u2019s most iconic paintings? Why is a Dalek trying to make contact with the Doctor? Who story is a \u201cthrilling, high-stakes journey\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul><p>Whittaker, meanwhile, has described her regeneration scene as \u201c<a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-jodie-whittaker-regeneration-epic-newsupdate\/"\">simple, epic and beautiful<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Following her and Chibnall\u2019s departure, Russell T Davies will <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-russell-t-davies-showrunner-return-newsupdate\/"\">return as Doctor Who showrunner<\/a> \u2013 having previously served as head writer and executive producer from 2005 to 2010 \u2013 with former stars <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-david-tennant-catherine-tate-return-newsupdate\/"\">David Tennant and Catherine Tate<\/a> also coming back to the show to mark its <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-60th-anniversary-special-release-date\/"\">60th anniversary in 2023<\/a>.<\/p> <p>Tennant\u2019s return will see him pitted against a villain played by <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-neil-patrick-harris-newsupdate\/"\">Neil Patrick Harris<\/a>, with fans speculating that Harris might be playing a classic Doctor Who foe, <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/david-tennant-doctor-who-return-theory\/"\">the Celestial Toymaker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Announced in May, <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/comedy\/sex-education-season-4-release-date\/"\">Sex Education<\/a> star <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-next-doctor-ncuti-gatwa-newsupdate\/"\">Ncuti Gatwa<\/a> will then take up the mantle as the next Doctor, with filming on his first
