The BBC has announced an all-star line-up for their new 8-part podcast series The Witch Farm, including The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/a>\u2018s Joseph Fiennes and No Offence\u2019s Alexandra Roach.<\/p>\n

The Witch Farm comes from the makers of\u00a0The<\/span> Battersea Poltergeist and Uncanny, and is a blend of drama and documentary which will re-investigate the<\/span> true story of an ordinary couple in an extraordinary, terrifying situation, and a house that has had more exorcisms than any othe<\/span>r in British history.<\/p>\n

Alongside Fiennes and Roach the series will also star Owen Teale\u00a0(Game of Thrones<\/a>), Reece Shearsmith (Inside No 9<\/a>) and Tom Price (Torchwood), and will launch on 17th October, with new episodes available on BBC Sounds every Monday at 7am or on Radio 4 at 11pm the same day.<\/p>\n

Writer and presenter Danny Robins said: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to return to BBC Sounds and Radio 4 with a new real-life ghost story just in time for Halloween. Investigating The<\/span> Battersea Poltergeist pushed me to the<\/span> very edge of believing ghosts exist. Since the<\/span>n, I\u2019ve been wondering if the<\/span>re\u2019s anothe<\/span>r case that could tip me over the<\/span> edge. Just, maybe, this is the<\/span> one.<\/p>\n

The official synopsis for the series says: \u201cIt\u2019s 1989 in rural Wales, and Bill (Fiennes) and Liz (Roach) move into the<\/span>ir new home, \u2018Heol Fanog\u2019 in the<\/span> Brecon Beacons mountains. It seems idyllic, but soon the<\/span>y are plagued by strange and frightening phenomena and an electricity bill so impossibly huge it suggests that something is sucking the<\/span> power from the<\/span> house.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe<\/span>ir dream home has become a haunted nightmare, but what is real and what is in the<\/span>ir minds? Danny Robins arrives in the<\/span> remote Welsh countryside to re-open this paranormal cold case.<\/p>\n

\u201cDanny goes on a journey that takes him into the<\/span> wild mountains of Wales to meet witch<\/span>es, druids, exorcists and the<\/span> woman at the<\/span> heart of the<\/span> haunting: the<\/span> real-life Liz, now in her 60s.\u201d<\/p>

The<\/span> series\u00a0features the<\/span> team of experts used for The<\/span> Battersea Poltergeist, parapsychologists Ciaran O\u2019Keefe and Evelyn Hollow, who have returned for The Witch Farm to help Robins investigate.<\/p>\n
