Channel 4 has purchased a painting by Adolf Hitler as part of its upcoming debate programme, Art Trouble.<\/p>\n

It will see the channel display a series of \u201cproblematic\u201d art works, with a studio audience tasked with deciding whether they should be destroyed by host Jimmy Carr.<\/p>\n

Among the art works included in the televised debate is a painting by Hitler, and the format will see an advocate for the piece of art argue why it shouldn\u2019t be destroyed before the audience decides.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Guardian<\/a>, Channel 4\u2019s director of programming Ian Katz said, \u201cThere are advocates for each piece of art. So you\u2019ve got an advocate for Hitler. There\u2019ll be someone arguing not for Hitler, but for the fact that his moral character should not decide whether or not a piece of art exists or not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Should the audience decide not to destroy Hitler\u2019s painting, Katz confirmed it would be \u201cappropriately\u201d disposed of.<\/p>\n
