A second season<\/a> was promptly announced, confirmed to arrive next year. Now, the series\u2019s creator Joe Barton has spoken exclusively with RadioTimes.com<\/a> about how the next instalment of the twisty time travel series is taking shape \u2013 and it sounds like it\u2019s going to be even more mind-bending than the last.<\/p>\n Barton said: \u201cIt\u2019s the hardest thing I\u2019ve ever had to do. Between getting recommissioned and starting shooting was, like, two months \u2013 it was like crazy. So we\u2019re filming right now. I\u2019m just trying to write the scripts before they turn up on set and have nothing to say. So it\u2019s very, very tight. It\u2019s very stressful.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s so complicated. It\u2019s the most complicated thing I\u2019ve ever had to have to write. I\u2019ve got f**king whiteboards full of time-travel loops\u2026 never again! I\u2019m never doing time travel again!\u201d<\/p>\n When RadioTimes.com<\/strong> said \u201cuntil season 3\u201d, Barton responded jokingly: \u201cYeah, exactly!\u201d<\/p>\n The series stars Paapa Essiedu as George, a man who is recruited into the Lazarus Project, a covert team that is dedicated to preventing mass extinction events by resetting the timeline.<\/p>\n Before the series was officially recommissioned for a second season, Barton told RadioTimes.com<\/strong> that futures outings could introduce other ex-agents<\/a> beyond Tom Burke\u2019s character, who were teased in season 1.<\/p> He said: \u201cIt\u2019s something we\u2019d probably explore more if we get further seasons, and that idea of what the toll is on these people who do this thing.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s an almost God-like aspect, they have this incredible power \u2013 they live in this world where they can manipulate space and time and they could live without consequences if they want to\u2026 and how does that corrupt them? How does it change the way they view morality?
