The series\u2019s showrunner will be exiting the show with The Power of the Doctor<\/a> alongside Jodie Whittaker, with the episode also featuring the Doctor\u2019s 14th generation.\u00a0And, apparently, it will be \u201cvery different\u201d to anything we\u2019ve seen before.<\/p>\n Speaking to Metro.co.uk<\/a>, Chibnall revealed details about the upcoming scene. \u201cIt is different. It\u2019s visually very different,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd where it takes place is different. I think I can say that without it being too much of a spoiler. It definitely feels different. It\u2019s not going to take place in the same place as the previous regeneration.\u201d<\/p>\n His comments appear to confirm this regeneration won\u2019t take place in the TARDIS, where all the regenerations since Christopher Eccleston\u2019s reboot have taken place.<\/p>\n When asked specifically about the theory that Whittaker\u2019s Doctor would regenerate into David Tennant\u2019s Doctor, rather than Gatwa\u2019s, the showrunner appeared to dismiss the rumours, saying: \u201cI haven\u2019t seen that but it\u2019s made me laugh!\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cThere\u2019s fan theories on everything, I seem to remember there was a fan theory that Graham would turn out to be the Doctor, that Bradley Walsh was a secret Doctor in disguise.\u201d<\/p> <\/div>\n Doctor Who returns to BBC One on Sunday 23rd October at 7:30pm for The Power of the Doctor.
