But while Edwards has been widely praised for how he handled the announcement<\/span>, the BBC newsreader has opened up on the pressure of reporting the Queen\u2019s passing<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n Speaking to Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, he revealed that he only learned the news about 10 seconds before it was announced to the nation.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cUsually, when you have a breaking story there\u2019s a lot of shouting in your ear from the gallery, saying, \u2018Go to the news, go to the news,\u2019 but this time was different,\u201d he explained. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe announcement came up on the wires and the gallery said, \u2018The announcement is here. Take your time.
