Some have criticised the streamer for going ahead with the series\u2019s new season, particularly since it will deal with then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana\u2019s divorce and the events leading to her passing.<\/p>\n
Speaking to EW<\/a>, creator Peter Morgan spoke about how \u201ccomplex\u201d filming after the Queen\u2019s passing had been, and how the series won\u2019t be \u201cunkind\u201d to the monarchy.<\/p>\n \u201cI felt a great many things at the same time,\u201d he told the outlet when asked about the Queen\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the days that followed were simultaneously a global phenomenon, a moment in history which you watched unfold as a spectator, and an intense and entirely moving personal experience which one wanted to process alone. The entire experience was made even more complex by the fact that, as my protagonist, of course, she is still very much alive.\u201d<\/p>\n Though Morgan agreed that the period in the \u201990s the new season covers will have \u201cpainful memories\u201d for King Charles, it \u201cdoesn\u2019t mean that, with the benefit of hindsight, history will be unkind to him, or the monarchy\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThe show certainly isn\u2019t,\u201d he added. \u201cI have enormous sympathy for a man in his position \u2014 indeed, a family in their position.
