Showrunner Chris Chibnall, Yaz star Mandip Gill and Dan star John Bishop<\/a> are all also moving on, and at a recent press event for the upcoming special, Gill reflected on the importance of the representation this era of the show has seen.<\/p>\n Gill said: \u201cIt feels amazing because I wanted to be seen when I was growing up. We can only thank Chris for writing those characters.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it feels amazing that people do resonate with it. I see a lot of fan art and I have had loads of interactions with people where it\u2019s meant so much to them. And I know what that feels like, to see yourself. It brings people to tears to be seen.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just mad that it\u2019s 2022 when that\u2019s happening, that\u2019s it\u2019s taken that long for a group of people to be seen.
