There is also the not so small matter of returning stars Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred, who are back in their roles as Tegan and Ace<\/a> for the first time since 1984 and 1989 respectively<\/p>\n Given this momentous occasion, Aldred and Fielding were asked in an interview with this week\u2019s Radio Times magazine<\/strong> how their former Doctors, Sylvester McCoy and Peter Davison, reacted to the news.<\/p>\n Aldred, whose character Ace was last seen on screen with Sylvester McCoy\u2019s Seventh Doctor, said: \u201cSylvester was delighted \u2014 he was one of the first people to text me. He\u2019s an emoji king, so there were loads of little symbols and \u2018Congratulations, I can\u2019t wait to see it\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile Fielding, whose character Tegan was the Fifth Doctor\u2019s companion, said: \u201cI\u2019ve seen Peter, and I don\u2019t think gloating is a very attractive thing to do, but there are times when you just have to\u2026 We are great mates.
