Though the show\u2019s latest special The Power of the Doctor is expected to mark his final appearance as the Master, Dhawan told RadioTimes.com<\/a> that he has mixed feelings about departing.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d love to come back,\u201d he said. \u201cBut sometimes I think\u2026 have I done my bit with it? Is it time for me to get my teeth into new characters?<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI remember when I wrapped \u2013 and it was a lovely thing \u2013 they gave me my costume to keep, and I was like, \u2018This is amazing!\u2019 but then I thought, \u2018OK, so I\u2019m definitely not coming back!\u2019. It was like, \u2018Oh, OK\u2026 and the tissue compression eliminator too? Oh, I\u2019m definitely not coming back\u2026\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The Power of the Doctor marks Jodie Whittaker\u2019s final appearance as Dhawan\u2019s on-screen sparring partner, the Thirteenth Doctor, with Ncuti Gatwa revealed in May to have been cast as the incoming Doctor<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dhawan described the Sex Education<\/a> star\u2019s casting as \u201cjust fantastic\u201d, adding, \u201cI feel people will be quite surprised by what he\u2019ll do with it, because I think he\u2019s such a versatile actor and I don\u2019t think we\u2019ve quite seen what this beautiful actor can do yet.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s in amazing hands with Russell [T Davies, returning as Doctor Who showrunner] as well. I\u2019m kind of envious, because it\u2019s a match made in heaven. So I\u2019m really excited to see what he [Gatwa] brings, and obviously the show is in new hands as well, so I\u2019m excited to see what life it takes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Gatwa has, of course, revealed that he\u2019d like his Doctor to face off against the Master<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019d be amazing,\u201d Dhawan told RadioTimes.com<\/strong> of the potential encounter. \u201cI wonder what the dynamic would be if we were to ever work together?
