Sunday night\u2019s Doctor Who<\/a>\u00a0special\u00a0The Power of the Doctor<\/a> contained all sorts of nods to the show\u2019s near 60-year history \u2013 and some fans reckon they\u2019ve spotted another tribute hidden in a scene towards the end of the episode.<\/p>\n After Yaz (Mandip Gill) says her final farewell to the Thirteenth Doctor, she attends a support group for former companions \u2013 which includes recent cast members such as Bradley Walsh\u2019s Graham and John Bishop\u2019s Dan alongside several familiar faces from further back<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dan, Yaz, Ace (Sophie Aldred), Tegan (Janet Fielding) and Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) were all present at the meeting, while there were also surprise returns for Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford), Jo Jones (Katy Manning) and Ian Chesterton (William Russell).<\/p> And fans were quick to notice that one chair had been left vacant \u2013 with many reading this as a tribute to beloved character Sarah Jane Smith, who was famously played by the late Elisabeth Sladen in both the classic and modern eras of the show.<\/p>\n \u201cA chair left empty for <\/span>Sarah Jane,\u201d one fan wrote on Twitter, while another added: \u201cdon\u2019t mind me just thinking about how the empty seat would\u2019ve been for <\/span>Sarah Jane if she was still here\u2026\u201d alongside a crying face emoji.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n don’t mind me just thinking about how the empty seat would’ve been for sarah jane if she was still here… ???? pic.twitter.com\/siw7WNOnS4<\/a><\/p>\u2014 william \u2022 doctor who spoilers (@beeeeeeaan) October 24, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote>
