The \u2018new\u2019 logo for Doctor Who<\/a>\u2018s 2023 episodes has been revealed \u2013 though it\u2019s more a new take on an old favourite.<\/p>\n

In a new video teaser, it was confirmed that the BBC sci-fi series is bringing back the classic \u2018diamond\u2019 logo \u2013 as seen during Tom Baker\u2019s tenure as the Fourth Doctor in the 1970s.<\/p>\n\n<p>The diamond logo remains popular amongst fans and is considered a design classic, but its return feels especially fitting given that next year marks 60 years of Doctor Who, or the show\u2019s diamond anniversary.<\/p>\n<div class=\""editor-content\" mb-lg=\"\" hidden-print=\"\" js-piano-preview-content=\"\" data-placement=\""Body"\">\n<p>Following Sunday night\u2019s BBC centenary special, <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-power-of-the-doctor-review\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">The Power of the Doctor<\/a>, David Tennant and Catherine Tate will appear in three special episodes to mark the anniversary, set to air in November 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\""editor-content\" mb-lg=\"\" hidden-print=\"\" js-piano-locked-content=\"\" data-placement=\""Body"\">\n<p>Following the anniversary specials,\u00a0<a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/comedy\/sex-education-season-4-release-date\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">Sex Education<\/a>\u00a0star Ncuti Gatwa will then take control of the TARDIS as the Fifteenth Doctor, <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-specials-new-series-2023-newsupdate\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">with his first episode airing \u201cover the festive period\u201d in 2023<\/a>.<\/p> <p>It has also been announced today (25th October) that new episodes of Doctor Who <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-disney-plus-streaming-newsupdate\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">will be available to stream on Disney Plus from next year outside of the UK and Ireland<\/a>, though the BBC will remain the show\u2019s exclusive home in the UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Returning as head writer and executive producer following his previous successful stint as showrunner from 2005 to 2010,\u00a0Russell T Davies said: \u201cI love this show, and this is the best of both worlds \u2013 with the vision and joy of the BBC and Disney Plus together we can launch the TARDIS all around the planet, reaching a new generation of fans while keeping our traditional home firmly on the BBC in the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Viewers have already been treated to a <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-ncuti-gatwa-first-appearance-newsupdate\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">first-look teaser for the
