The exact nature of Peter Capaldi\u2019s character in new Prime Video<\/a> series The Devil\u2019s Hour<\/a> is unclear \u2013 and the Doctor Who<\/a> star has confirmed that viewers won\u2019t learn the truth about Gideon until the final episode.<\/p>\n A six-part series, The Devil\u2019s Hour<\/a> explores the surprising link between a woman (Jessica Raine) suffering from waking nightmares, a detective (Nikesh Patel) investigating a string of brutal murders and a nomadic criminal (Capaldi) who believes he can predict the future.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t really tell you very much about him at all, because he holds the key to the whole thing,\u201d Capaldi told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press. \u201cSo to reveal quite who he is gives away the joy that you\u2019ll have in episode six, when you find out \u2013 but he\u2019s clearly somebody who\u2019s fallen through the cracks, or decided to fall through the cracks, and he has a mission, which is a dark mission, which puts him on the other side of law and morality as we know it to be.<\/p>\n \u201cSo yeah, he\u2019s a mystery, but not always, you will find out [who he is]. Because sometimes you can read a script and you can think, \u2018Oh, well, that all sounds very exciting\u2019 and there\u2019s diminishing returns \u2013 you know, they don\u2019t quite deliver at the end the thing that they have developed your appetite for.
