<\/p>
It\u2019s been a very eventful year in the world of tennis \u2013 from high-profile retirements to new World Number Ones \u2013 but now the season is drawing to a close with the tour finals.<\/p>\n
The ATP Finals will take place in Turin in a couple of weeks\u2019 time, but first up it\u2019s time for the WTA Finals, which will see the eight highest-ranked players in the women\u2019s circuit battle it out for the title in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n
The clear favourite going into the tournament is World Number One Iga \u015awi\u0105tek, with the 21-year-old Pole having dominated the tour this year, including winning two out of the four Grand Slams and going on an incredible 37-match winning streak \u2013 the longest in the 21st century.<\/p>\n
But there are plenty of players who will pose tough challenges for \u015awi\u0105tek, not least Tunisian star Ons Jabeur, who has herself enjoyed a very good campaign \u2013 finishing runner-up at both Wimbledon and the US Open.<\/p>\n
Jabeur gets her tournament underway tonight against Aryna Sabalenka, following the tournament\u2019s first match between Jessica Pegula and Maria Sakkari.<\/p>\n
