\u201cOne of the interesting things about Hopper this season \u2014 although you do see a lot of that fatherly stuff is \u2014 I did want to take him back into the warrior realm because there\u2019s something as you get to be the dad role where, you know, it\u2019s a bit like the dad gene,\u201d the actor told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cYou start to become less of a viable presence in the world. They\u2019re more like, \u2018Oh, dad\u2019 \u2014 like someone who people are humiliated by, and like, I\u2019m not quite ready for that. I still want to be, like, a presence.\u201d<\/p>\n At the end of season three, Hawkins sheriff Hopper was presumed dead by the other central characters \u2013 although we now know that he\u2019s alive.<\/p>\n The official synopsis for season four highlights Hopper\u2019s plight: \u201cIt\u2019s not all good news for our \u2018American\u2019; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human\u2026 and other.\u201d<\/p> Hopper\u2019s \u2018death\u2019 was particularly devastating for Eleven (played by\u00a0Millie Bobby Brown), who Hopper \u2013 in all intents and purposes \u2013 adopted following the events of season one.<\/p>\n \u201cMillie and I have always had sort of a special relationship because I knew her when she was so young. I knew her before any of this big fame hit,\u201d Harbour said. \u201cI have a real protective feeling for her. I have a real, like, worry. I worry about her and the fame and all that she has to struggle with. And I\u2019ve just always felt this kind of deep fatherly affection for her.\u201d<\/p>\n Details for season four are being kept under wraps, but Harbour\u2019s Stranger Things co-star\u00a0Caleb McLaughlin recently teased the \u201cinsane\u201d storylines in an interview with Complex<\/a>.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI\u2019m excited for people to see the season. We\u2019ve been filming it right now for the past year and a half, two years because of COVID. I\u2019m really excited for everyone to see the season. It\u2019s definitely different from the last couple of seasons. Storylines are insane. It\u2019s going to be really exciting to see what people think about this. While I\u2019m talking about this, I\u2019m thinking about what we\u2019ve been filming and I\u2019m just like, \u201cWow. No one knows what is to come.
