Neil Gaiman has shut down a false rumour suggesting that Netflix<\/a> has cancelled its adaptation of his comic book The Sandman<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The writer responded after a Twitter user pointed him in the direction of a post<\/a> claiming that the show \u201chas been cancelled by Netflix after 1 season\u201d, which had been shared by a parody account.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDamn @neilhimself I\u2019m sorry. Take it to @PrimeVideo\u201d the user wrote as they shared the fake announcement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gaiman then suggested that the social media site could further spread misinformation if Twitter\u2019s new owner Elon Musk goes ahead with plans to charge users a fee to verify their accounts.<\/span><\/p>\n
