With Jodie Whittaker\u2019s era of Doctor Who<\/a> now officially over, it\u2019s time to look forward to the show\u2019s 2023 specials, which will see Heartstopper\u2019s Yasmin Finney take on the new role of Rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n While Doctor Who fans don\u2019t know a huge amount about next year\u2019s 60th anniversary episodes, Finney has teased that her casting is going to \u201cchange the world\u201d.<\/p>\n Speaking to Vogue<\/a>, Finney opened up about becoming the first transgender actress to play a main role on the long-running BBC sci-fi drama.<\/p>\n \u201cIt will change the world,\u201d she said, before adding that she couldn\u2019t say much more about it.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are spies. If I talk about the Whoniverse, it\u2019s over,\u201d she said. \u201cAll I can say is, I feel so honoured to be seen by Russell [T Davies]\u2026 I remember growing up idolising it.\u201d<\/p>\n Finney also praised the \u201cvery inclusive\u201d iteration of the show, adding: \u201cI\u2019m happy to be the representation on a show that means a lot to so many.\u201d<\/p>\n The BBC announced that Finney would be joining the cast of Russell T Davies<\/a>\u2018 Doctor Who back in May, with the incoming showrunner saying: \u201cLife on Doctor Who gets brighter and wilder, how can there be another Rose?
