This week sees the release of Enola Holmes 2<\/a> on Netflix \u2013 with Millie Bobby Brown returning for another case as Sherlock\u2019s less famous sister, this time looking into the mysterious disappearance of a young girl.<\/p>\n The Stranger Things<\/a> star is one of many familiar faces back from the original film, with Henry Cavill also reprising his role as Sherlock Holmes, and Adeel Akhtar, Helena Bonham Carter, and Louis Partridge back as Lestrade, Eudoria, and Tewkesbury respectively.<\/p> But there is one star notably absent \u2013 with no sign of Sam Claflin as Sherlock and Enola\u2019s rather arrogant older brother Mycroft, and hardly a mention of the character throughout the film\u2019s runtime.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not immediately clear why Claflin isn\u2019t involved in the sequel \u2013 Mycroft does<\/em> appear in the second novel in Nancy Springer\u2019s book series and RadioTimes.com<\/a> did not receive a response when we reached out to Claflin\u2019s reps for clarification.<\/p>\n Furthermore, Claflin had previously stated that he would like to appear in a sequel, telling MovieWeb<\/a> in 2022: \u201cIt\u2019s not in my hands, but I\u2019d definitely be open to another one.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cI had a lot of fun doing it. There\u2019s material there \u2013 and I\u2019m always wanting more work, so my door is always open.\u201d<\/p>\n
