Hopper will be back on fighting form in season four. <\/p>

Fans of Stranger Things<\/a> should expect to see Jim Hopper back in his \u201cwarrior realm\u201d in season four, David Harbour has hinted in a recent interview.<\/p>\n

The Black Widow star, who\u2019s played Hawkins chief of police Hopper since season one, said in a recent interview that the upcoming series will see Hopper retreat from the fatherly figure he\u2019s become to return to his grittier roots.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the interesting things about Hopper this season \u2014 although you do see a lot of that fatherly stuff \u2014 is I did want to take him back into the warrior realm because there\u2019s something as you get to be the dad role where, you know, it\u2019s a bit like the dad gene,\u201d he told the That Scene with Dan Patrick<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou start to become less of a viable presence in the world,\u201d he added. \u201cThey\u2019re more like, \u2018Oh, dad\u2019 \u2014 like someone who people are humiliated by, and like, I\u2019m not quite ready for that. I still want to be, like, a presence.\u201d<\/p>

Filming on the upcoming season is currently underway, with Netflix announcing that Amybeth McNulty (Anne with an E), Myles Truitt (Kin), Regina Ting Chen (Watchmen) and Grace Van Dien (The Village) had joined the show\u2019s cast<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

While in May, the show finally released a cryptic teaser trailer<\/a> for series four, in which Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) returned to the Hawkins National Laboratory to perform tests on another set of children before a sleeping Eleven suddenly jolted awake.<\/p>\n
