The latest season of the Netflix<\/a> royal drama sees her reunite with her former lover Peter Townsend<\/a>, \u201cher sun, her water\u201d, for the first time in over three decades, leaving Margaret desperately pining for what could have been if not for the powers that be.<\/p>\n Following the fire at Windsor Castle<\/a>, a restless Margaret asks the Queen: \u201cYou don\u2019t think I would have reason to burn down my sister\u2019s home?\u201d before launching into a diatribe against her sister for \u201cdenying\u201d her Peter.<\/p>\n Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press, Lesley Manville<\/a>, who plays Margaret, said: \u201cI absolutely loved doing that scene. It\u2019s such a highlight for me. I\u2019ve known Imelda [Staunton, who plays the Queen] for many, many, many decades and it\u2019s just wonderful when you go on set and you know you\u2019ve got this big important scene. All the<\/span> scenes are important, but that\u2019s an important scene in the<\/span> storytelling of Margaret and Elizabeth.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019d been shooting for a while by the<\/span>n but it was probably the<\/span> most significant scene togethe<\/span>r that we\u2019d have to shoot. And so you just get that thrill, and the<\/span> script was so good.\u201d<\/p>\n Staunton added: \u201cI think it sums up the<\/span>ir relationship, all the<\/span> pent up frustration that Margaret has and how Elizabeth just has to take it. And she doesn\u2019t kick back. She says her piece about doing what she did as Queen, not as your sister, and that\u2019s part of her job and her life and her relationship. She knows that Margaret\u2019s life has been difficult and the<\/span>re\u2019s nothing else she can do.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a great piece of writing from Peter and I loved that it was true to the<\/span>ir relationship, that Elizabeth didn\u2019t fight back because she\u2019s not that sort of person.
