But that wasn\u2019t the only revelation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat about the others?\u201d Megan\u2019s husband Gethin asked Christine. \u201cIf you can lie about Liam, what about Will and Jamie and Megan?\u201d<\/p>\n
It emerged that Megan, Will and Jamie\u2019s respective backstories also mirrored Liam\u2019s, with Christine\u2019s attempts to convince her children otherwise rejected by the trio.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve unpacked the ending, which you can read here<\/a>, and we also had a chat with the cast about the heartrending finale, which you can read below.<\/p> \u201cAbsolutely mad,\u201d said Jordan Wilks, who played Connor and Liam. \u201cIt\u2019s jaw-dropping. Throughout the whole series, there are twists and turns that you just don\u2019t expect, and I didn\u2019t expect the ending myself. Of all the things it could have been, that wasn\u2019t the avenue I thought it would go down.<\/p>\n \u201cThe explanation and the intricacies were broken down and it really made sense.\u201d<\/p>\n Mali Ann Rees, who starred as Megan, added: \u201cIt\u2019s huge, and it\u2019s unassuming that it\u2019s Gethin who unveils all this because he\u2019s been quite quiet and stable. And they can tell immediately that she has been lying\u201d.<\/p>\n Wilks went on to say that he empathises with Christine \u201c100 per cent\u201d, adding: \u201cThat want to save a person, to save a child, who wouldn\u2019t be able to relate to that? Maybe not to the extent of raising them for however many years and passing them off as your own child, but I understand her plight and her need to be like, \u2018I know what these kids are going to go through and if I can do anything to stop that from happening, then I will do it.’\u201d<\/p>\n Rees echoed that: \u201cI think that\u2019s what makes it more intriguing because if she\u2019d done something wholly awful, I don\u2019t think the character would have been as complex. And as we know, the care system can be very troubling for people, and they had quite a good upbringing with Christine, although there are problems with each of them. And that feeling of being abandoned is something that has stuck with them inside, even though they don\u2019t know exactly how or why.\u201d<\/p>\n Rees also said that when she watched the drama herself, it \u201caffected\u201d her more than she thought it would, adding: \u201cIt was strange to have that outer perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n The Pact<\/a> season 2 is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer<\/a>.
