BBC One\u2019s The Traitors may have only just begun, but host Claudia Winkleman has already delivered the first brutal twist, which saw two contestants automatically eliminated within the first 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

The new psychological competition sees 22 strangers enter a castle in the Scottish Highlands<\/a>, where they are tasked with uncovering the traitors among them \u2013 a small group of undercover saboteurs who\u2019ll be picking off contestants in the hopes of winning \u00a3120,000.<\/p>\n

However, two contestants didn\u2019t even make it into the castle before being told to leave the cast<\/a>, with Amos and Kieran failing the show\u2019s first challenge.<\/p>\n

After meeting one another, Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>\u2018s Claudia asked the group to rank themselves in order from most likely to win, to least likely to win.<\/p>\n

While Cambridge-based scientist Imran and retired 72-year-old Andrea considered themselves to be winners, 30-year-old doctor Amos and Hertfordshire consultant Kieran placed themselves at the end.<\/p>\n

When asked why they thought they were least likely to win, Kieran said: \u201c[I have] no expectations, I\u2019m going to take it day by day and we\u2019ll see how we go,\u201d while Amos said that he didn\u2019t want to \u201cfade into the background\u201d, adding: \u201cThe extremes are where you stick out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claudia then revealed the competition\u2019s first major shock, telling the group: \u201cEvery decision you make, every single one has a consequence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you two, you think you\u2019re going to lose,\u201d she told Amos and Kieran. \u201cI am going to take you at your word. So I\u2019m afraid, it\u2019s goodbye. I\u2019d like you to leave the grounds immediately. It\u2019s called The Traitors.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cComplete and utter devastation \u2013 it backfired massively,\u201d Kieran said, while a visibly emotional Amos added: \u201cThat was difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

With two contestants already eliminated from the competition, there are just 20 left, some of whom will be faithfuls, those needing to identify the traitors among them before they\u2019re \u2018killed\u2019, and the others will be traitors \u2013 saboteurs who must go undetected whilst killing off their fellow competitors.<\/p>\n

Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press about taking on The Traitors\u2019 presenting role, Claudia said that she ditched her \u201csmiley\u201d Strictly persona<\/a> for the reality show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to be so smiley on Strictly. \u2018Oh a five\u2019s not bad from Craig [Revel Horwood], well done. At least it\u2019s not a three,’\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m kind to [the contestants] sometimes. I wish the best for them and I try and look after them, but it\u2019s quite difficult because I can\u2019t say anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Traitors continues tomorrow at 9:15pm and Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.<\/strong><\/p>\n
