We\u2019re on the Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> home stretch, with this year\u2019s line-up<\/a> set to take on Musicals Week this Friday (December 3rd 2022) for the competition\u2019s quarter-final.<\/p>\n

But the ballroom isn\u2019t the only place where Strictly\u2019s famous contestants are tested. During the VT that aired before her performance in Blackpool Tower, a tearful Helen Skelton<\/a> opened up about how \u201cdifferent\u201d she feels thanks to the show after a difficult few months.<\/p>\n

In an appearance on It Takes Two, the Countryfile presenter, who split from husband Richie Myler earlier this year, addressed the emotional footage after host Janette Manrara asked her what the competition meant to her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI came into this and I underestimated it, because I thought, \u2018It\u2019s dancing and nice dresses and interesting people,’\u201d Helen said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s weird, it\u2019s so much more than that. It makes you ask questions of yourself that you don\u2019t want to ask.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a 39-year-old woman with three kids and you do your job and your relationships and your house and your career and all of that \u2013 and you don\u2019t really just challenge yourself and find joy in yourself. So it\u2019s been a rollercoaster of emotions that I didn\u2019t expect.\u201d<\/p>\n
