Family drama awaits as EastEnders<\/a>\u2018\u00a0Janine Butcher may have her web of lies untangled by her own daughter.<\/p>\n

Soap star Charlie Brooks has hinted that her character Janine\u2019s daughter Scarlett (Tabitha Byron) may soon disclose what she knows about the car accident.<\/p>\n

Janine is doing all in her power to keep her fianc\u00e9 Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) away from his ex Linda (Kellie Bright). Particularly, she\u2019s fighting to prevent Mick from finding out the truth about the car crash that almost claimed Linda\u2019s life earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Linda is still convinced she had been day-drinking on the day of the accident, but it was actually Janine who was behind the wheel.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Scarlett may be telling the truth, she gives her an ultimatum.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see a moment where she says, \u2018My daughter can have whatever she wants, whenever\u00a0she wants this Christmas\u2019, so there\u2019s an element of bribery and keeping her quiet,\u201d Brooks explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so nasty when she says the ultimatum, \u2018Do you want the family? Do you want to be happy? Because if you do, then keep your mouth shut!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s definitely deep-rooted fear around her, as Scarlett is a wild card, and Janine\u2019s never really had that close bond with her. She has tried a little bit, but she\u2019s never quite gotten there, so I don\u2019t think she feels safe. I think Janine gets a bit weirded out by her own daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooks has weighed in on Janine\u2019s motives, saying that her character may have done something terrible but she ultimately didn\u2019t mean to crash the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe crashed that car, but she didn\u2019t mean to crash the car, and at the end of the day, Linda was drunk. Janine did think she was doing a good thing,\u201d Brooks said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere she would have gone with Linda if the car hadn\u2019t crashed, I don\u2019t know. That is a question that I do sometimes ponder. When she dragged Linda\u2019s body into the driving seat, obviously, all that stuff was absolutely awful, but that is what Janine does when she\u2019s under that pressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe thinks she\u2019s doing the right thing at that moment because she can\u2019t think straight, and she gets all mumbled, and she doesn\u2019t quite know what to do and makes the biggest mistakes, and that was one of the big mistakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut in her head, I don\u2019t think she intended to hurt Linda or crash that car on purpose. She just makes really bad decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n
