Trevor Noah has bid an emotional goodbye to The Daily Show.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Thursday night\u2019s episode\u00a0(8th December) marked the last for the late-night host after seven years with the Comedy Central program.<\/p>\n

Noah first revealed his plans to depart from The Daily Show back in September.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presenter told his audience he was \u201c<\/span>filled with gratitude for the journey\u201d of hosting the series, but that his \u201ctime is up\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been absolutely amazing. It\u2019s something that I never expected. And I found myself thinking throughout the time, you know, everything we\u2019ve gone through, the Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey of, you know, the more pandemic,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd then, and I realised that after the seven years, my time is up.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI realised there\u2019s another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring. I miss learning other languages. I miss going to other countries and putting on shows. I miss just being everywhere, doing everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Daily Show is yet to hire a permanent replacement for the outgoing host.<\/span><\/p>\n
Having said that, Comedy Central has recruited plenty of big names to host the program in the meantime.<\/span><\/p>\n
On Tuesday (6th December) the network announced that <\/span>Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, DL Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes and Marlon Wayans will act as rotating guest hosts of the show when it returns in January.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cAs we enter Trevor\u2019s final week, we want to thank him for his many contributions,\u201c Chris McCarthy, president of Paramount Media Networks, said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cTrevor redefined the show, as did Jon Stewart before him, and as we look to the future, we are excited to reimagine it yet again with the help of this incredible list of talent and correspondents along with the immensely talented \u2018Daily Show\u2019 team.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
According to Variety<\/span><\/a>, Comedy Central might replace Noah with Samantha Bee, a former Daily Show correspondent who went on to host <\/span>her own satire news show<\/span>, TBS\u2019s now-cancelled Full Frontal With Samantha Bee.<\/span><\/p>\n
Actor and Obama White House staffer Kal Penn is also thought to be in the running, according to the publication.<\/span><\/p>\n
