While many viewers were left frustrated by the 24-year-old\u2019s confession \u2013 which was received poorly by his fellow contestants and ultimately led to his elimination \u2013 Tom has revealed exactly why he chose to disclose his and Alex\u2019s concealed connection when he did.<\/p>\n
Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> in an exclusive interview, the Buckinghamshire-based magician explained that he felt he needed \u201cto go ham or go home\u201d with the truth after Alex was put on trial by the Traitors alongside Ivan and John.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone\u2019s online being like, \u2018You\u2019re such an idiot for saying at this point,\u2019 but the fact of the matter is that everyone behind Alex\u2019s back is going to my face, \u2018I think it\u2019s Alex \u2013 we\u2019ll be voting Alex, she\u2019s too quiet, she\u2019s definitely smarter than she looks.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cSo when they were put on trial, there was like this general consensus and everyone agreed that one of the people on trial must be a Traitor. Everyone was fixated on that and I sort of joined the bandwagon with that.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that everyone believed John \u2013 who was eventually killed by the Traitors \u2013 to be \u201c100 per cent Faithful\u201d and so as he suspected Ivan to be a Traitor anyway, he tried to convince people to banish him in order to protect Alex.<\/p>\n \u201cI suspected Ivan anyway, just because he\u2019d been going around towards everyone ultimately being his lovely, friendly self \u2013 but I also just thought to myself, someone\u2019s going to vote one of these three.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cAt the moment, it\u2019s all on Alex. I need to go ham or go home, I need to go up and literally just lie to everyone, be like, \u2018I can read people\u2019, just say anything I can to convince everyone to vote for Ivan.<\/p>\n \u201cOtherwise you have the Maddy effect, in my opinion.
