It has been a long time since subscription services were just for TV and film, and now we have many on the market for all the gamers out there.<\/p>\n

Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo all have their own, while certain publishers are getting in on the act with Ubisoft having a service just for all their games.<\/p>\n

Never one to miss out on the action is Apple, and it has made the jump to having a streaming service of its own \u2013 but it does have some major differences to make it stand out in the ever-growing crowd.<\/p>\n

What is Apple Arcade?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Apple Arcade is a video game subscription service that comes, unsurprisingly given the name, from Apple. It\u2019s available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV \u2013 so it\u2019s not just for the small screens.<\/p>\n<p>There are around 200 games on the service, and they are a mix of popular titles and games that were made specifically to use on Apple Arcade. We\u2019ll go into the games themselves a little more, shortly.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u200cHow much is Apple Arcade in the UK?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When you <a href=\"\/\/apple.sjv.io\/c\/1236178\/435298\/7615?subId1=radiotimes-0&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fuk%2Fapple-arcade%2F"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""sponsored" noopener noreferrer\">sign up for Apple Arcade<\/a>, you can either choose between a monthly option, or you can go all in and buy it for the whole year.<\/p>\n<p>The latter will set you back \u00a350 here in the UK, while you are looking at \u00a35 if you want to pay monthly \u2013 so you\u2019ll save a tenner by going yearly.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Is there an Apple Arcade free trial in the UK?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you have an Apple device, then you have an <a href=\"\/\/apple.sjv.io\/c\/1236178\/435298\/7615?subId1=radiotimes-0&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fuk%2Fapple-arcade%2F"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""sponsored" noopener noreferrer\">Apple Arcade free trial<\/a> at your disposal.<\/p>\n<p>The trial lasts for a month, which is more than enough time to work out whether it is a service for you or not \u2013 but be warned. Cancelling the trial will remove all access instantly, so don\u2019t do it unless you really don\u2019t want to play for free anymore.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Best Apple Arcade games to play in 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n<iframe title=\""Sneaky\" sasquatch=\"\" trailer=\"\" apple=\"\" arcade=\"\" width=\""200"\" height=\""113"\" src=\""https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tmcufCv-99A?feature=oembed"\" frameborder=\""0"\" allow=\""accelerometer;\" autoplay=\"\" clipboard-write=\"\" encrypted-media=\"\" gyroscope=\"\" picture-in-picture=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"\"\/>\n<p>As mentioned, there are around 200 games on the service but given the handheld nature of what Apple Arcade is geared towards, it should come as no surprise that there are no massive AAA games on there \u2013 it\u2019s not that kind of gaming.<\/p>\n<p>But there are still some great ones, including the original Goat Simulator which is worth a playthrough if you are a fan of wacky ridiculousness.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d also recommend the kid-friendly environmental game <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/technology\/gaming\/alba-game-nintendo-switch-review-comment\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">Alba: A Wildlife Adventure<\/a>, the fiery platformer Hot Lava, and the TV-inspired Warped Kart Racers.<\/p>\n<p>Other games worth checking out include the brilliantly named Sneaky Sasquatch, Mini Motorways, ChuChu Rocket Universe, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and many more.<\/p> <h2><strong>\u200cIs Apple Arcade worth it?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As always with a question like this, it comes down to the individual. But for us, if you are a lover of mobile games and you have time on your side to sink into them, you will get a lot of value for money out of Apple Arcade.<\/p>\n<p>On the flip side though, if you don\u2019t have that much time to play them and you are more of a casual gamer, your best choice would be to buy the individual games. There is a lot of choice here and you will never be short of something to play, but you\u2019ll need to sink a lot of hours in to make the cost worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, this is a gem of a service for those that are glued to their devices \u2013 and you\u2019ll almost certainly find some new favourites to add to your gaming rotation.
