While the World Cup<\/a> may still be wrapping up, Joe Lycett<\/a>\u2018s special edition of Got Your Back is set to take us right back to the beginning of the football event.<\/p>\n

Joe Lycett vs David Beckham: A Got Your Back Christmas Special airs tonight (Thursday 15th December) and, in an exclusive clip shared with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, viewers get a glimpse of the comedian\u2019s nerves in the run up to the big event.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of this year\u2019s World Cup, Lycett alleged destroyed \u00a310,000 in a headline-grabbing stunt to highlight the controversies surrounding Qatar hosting this year\u2019s competition, specifically regarding the LGBTQ+ community, and gave well-known footballing legend David Beckham an ultimatum.<\/p>\n

The Got Your Back special clip shows that although Lycett is known to many as a confident figure, he was actually nervous in the lead up to the event.<\/p>\n

In the clip from Rumpus Media, he is seen filming the ultimatum intended for Beckham. He says:\u00a0I\u2019m giving you a choice, if you end your relationship with Qatar, I\u2019ll donate this 10 grand of my own money \u2013 that\u2019s a grand for every million you\u2019re reportedly getting \u2013 to charities that support queer people in football.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, if you do not, at midday next Sunday, I\u2019ll throw this money into a shredder just before the opening ceremony of the World Cup, and stream it live on a website I\u2019ve registered called BendersLikeBeckham.com. The choice is yours. I look forward to hearing from you.\u201d<\/p>\n

After filming the short segment, he goes on to look down and admit:\u00a0\u201cDo you know what? I realised I think why I feel nervous and it\u2019s because it matters to me \u2026 like this \u2026 yeah, it really directly affects me, what happens here.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t look like that much really when \u2026 all things considered. It\u2019s a lot though, it\u2019s a lot when it\u2019s going through a shredder.\u201d<\/p>\n
