Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> to promote his role in new Netflix<\/a> drama Treason<\/a>, Cox discussed what fans might be able to expect from the upcoming series, which is subtitled Born Again.<\/p> \u201cI know that was one area that the fans were really, really pleased with,\u201d he said of the darker tone of the original. \u201cAnd we did tap into a Marvel fanbase that is a little bit more mature than your generic comic book hero fans.<\/p>\n \u201cDoes that mean that these characters can\u2019t work with a tone that is [lighter]? Tone can be dark without necessarily having the gruesome element.\u201d<\/p>\n Cox said despite the toning down the \u2018gore-y\u2019 aspect of the series, he\u2019s \u201cexcited\u201d to see what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n \u201cThe thing about our show is it was tonally dark but it was also pretty gruesome.
